NOTICE: 22 May 1300: The 10 inch water pipe on Melody near Darcy broke.
23 May 1550: Have excavated down to the pipe but continuing water intrusion making it difficult to locate leak. 24 May 1400: Leak is located but need an excavator to fully expose the underside to evaluate how extensive the break is. 24 May 1700: Due to the holiday weekend, the required excavator is not available until Tuesday, 28 May. 25 May 1100: Restore 2 lanes of traffic. 26 May 1200: Rain 27 May 0930: Pump out excavation site. 28 May 0800: Pump out site, once again and extend site to enable access to leak under pipe. 29 May 0800: Remove impacted rocks under pipe and evaluate extent of leak and obtain necessary repair parts. 30 May 1800: New clamp attached to leak but clamp defective. It was replaced and new clamp will be installed tomorrow. 31 May 1900: New clamp has been installed, tested and placed into service. Water is flowing at up to 790,000 gallons a day, keeping our valley green and increasing property values and fire safety. |
